Pcos (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a common endocrine system disease among women of reproductive age. its prevalence in different studies are reported as 5-10 percent. fβ-hcg levels has a close relation with decidua the placenta process. it has been stated in several reports that changes in arterial functions leads to endothelial damage in pregnant women without pcos. in addition to endothelial damage, impaired trophoblast invasion to muscle decidua and endometrial spiral arteries -which is related to the placental abnormality- are seen. therefore, it can be concluded that these changes can be seen in women with pcos.
Methods
This study is a review article.searching performed in some databases like pubmed, google scholar, proquest, cochrane library, scopus, springer and science direct. the articles in english from 2014 until 2016 were found which their topic was similar to our topic 10 case–control.
Results
In studies, bhcg levels were measured between weeks 11 and 13 weeks, and it was found that bhcg levels were higher in the pcos group than in the control group, while in other studies, papp-a and bhcg in the pcos group were higher than those in the pcos group. the control group was significantly lower, but in all studies, there was no difference between the two groups in terms of nt.
Conclusion
Generally, the level of biochemical compounds in the first trimester of pregnancy has been altered in women with pcos, but there is a need for more extensive studies in this regard. considering that the above-mentioned study did not have the same internal and external successes, so now screening for these patients is not recommended, so further studies are recommended.
